Fridays: April 29, May 6, May 13, May 20, June 10, June 17
(10.00-12.30)
(10.00-12.30)
Experience, discover and understand the limitations and possibilities of your body to create a secure, personal, deep and adventurous yoga practice with endless possibilities.
In these six practical workshops, each lasting 2.5 hours, you will learn to analyze the anatomical differences between our bodies and you will understand and experience why each one of us may need to practice yoga poses differently.
If none of us is equal, why do we have to do the yoga poses in the same way?
We all know that every body has its limitations and possibilities, but we often forget these individual differences. We get obsessed with pursuing the "perfect" pose and lose sight of the therapeutic effects and potential of each yoga pose for us as individuals. This can ultimately result in a lot of frustration and may cause injuries.
To analyze why a yoga practitioner can or can not can do a yoga pose, we must learn to look beyond the surface and understand the natural differences in our skeleton which determines how we move.
Instead of a mere theoretical lecture about anatomy, you interactively discover, compare and understand with the other participants everyone's anatomical possibilities and differences while doing various yoga poses.
You will learn to identify the joints and muscles which are used in the most common yoga poses. You will learn to determine your physical capabilities and limitations and how to adapt and adjust the yoga poses to them so as to prevent unnecessary injuries. Also you will learn to define the general functions of a yoga pose and how to investigate what can be the relevant therapeutical function of the pose for your body.
Each workshop ends with a yoga class which consists of a combination of Yin / hatha / Power / Vinyasa Yoga. During this session you will experience and try out what you have learned during each workshop.
A unique opportunity to get to know, analyze and use your body in order to deepen your yoga practice!
